Rashid Mugeez popularly known as Mugeez is a Ghanian Rapper who is a part of the group R2beee with Faisal Hakeem. The duo released their first album in 2009 titled “Da Revolution”. Mugeez
Mugeez and his cousin were nominated at the 2013 BET Awards for Best International Act, but lost to Nigerian HipHop sensation Ice Price.
Mugeez was born and raised in Tema, Ghana. He and his cousin now partner lived in the same house and attended the same primary school and high school.
Mugeez and his partner have maintained a decent structure at R2beee, where Mugeez is the lead vocalist an Paedae is the CEO and leader of the popular group.
Just like many celebrities their musical career dates back to their high school days, when they would represent their school in rap competitions around Ghana. This opened the door for the duo as they got to participate in popular radio competition Kasahare, a three-hour hiplife/rap show on Adom 106.3 FM every Saturday night. This further threw the duo into the limelight as they got to perform on most shows under their stage name “Camp Yard”.
Mugeez helped R2BEES inreleasing it’s first single in August 2008 and they titled the track “Yawa Gal”, which was part of the Da Revolution album. “Yawa Gal” became an instant hit, and went on to top charts across Ghana for weeks . They were relentless and went on to release ‘I Dey Mad’ featured Unda Melodies, this would also go on to become a hit.
2010 was a big year for R2BEES, as they featured Nigeria’s very own stars Wande Coal on their track ‘Kiss Your Hand’, as their third single.
The video dropped shortly and was criticized by music enthusiasts and fans, but Mugeez paid no attention to that.
In 2009, with the help Killbeatz (Joseph Addison) the duo released a 17-track album Da Revolution which had to it’s collection songs like ; ‘Yawa Girl’, I dey Mad’, ‘T.E.M.A’, ‘Kiss Your Hand’ with new songs; ‘Radio’, ‘One more Chance’ and ‘Africa’ as well as guest appearances from some of West Africa’s finest including the likes of Wande Coal, Sarkodie, Samini, Kwaw Kese and a few more.
On 29 March 2013, R2Bees with lead vocalist Mugeez released their second studio album, the ‘Refuse To Be Broke – Da Revolution II’, Da Revolution II’ was released at the Silver Lounge at the Accra Mall. It was a 19 track album featuring hits such as ‘Ajeii’, ‘Life (Walaahi)’, ‘Odo’ and ‘Bayla Trap’. The album was also graced by some of the West African giants such as Wizkid, Sherifa Gunu, Davido, Tinchy Stryder and Voicemail. The high-life flavored song was released on 25 September 2014, and enjoyed massive airplay all around Africa.
R2Bees style of music was mostly native with most of their songs done in Twi and Pidgin. They are one the leading Ghanaian hiplife music groups. They stood out for their fusion of rap with sounds of high-life (African pop music) and reggae.

He and Faisal Hakeem are cousins and grew up in the same home.
